About Us

The Heritage Landing Hammerheads is a 501(c)(3) non-profit swim team led by a Volunteer Board of Directors made up of parents from our community. Our experienced coaching staff works with swimmers to develop strong swimming skills, teamwork, and confidence—while making sure everyone has fun along the way.

Our season runs from April through July. During the season, we host several swim meets at the Heritage Landing Community Pool and travel to compete against other communities throughout St. Johns County. The Hammerheads are proud members of the St. Johns Summer Swim League, which includes 10 other teams and is considered a developmental league focused on teaching the fundamentals of competitive swimming, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Our team welcomes swimmers ages 5–18. Practices are held after school while school is in session, and transition to morning practices once summer break begins. Swim meets are typically held on Saturday mornings throughout the season.

The season concludes with a county-wide championship meet in mid-July, where all league teams come together to compete, celebrate their progress, and show their team spirit. We wrap up the season with a fun team banquet, complete with photos, team memories, and our famous paper plate awards.

We hope to see you on deck this season!

Board Of Directors

President | David Dyer

David has been a resident of Heritage Landing for seven years. This will be his fourth year with the Hammerheads and third year on the Board. David is also on his second year as the Vice President of the St. Johns County Summer Swim League board. David is married to Rachel and they have three children, Bryn (9), David III (7), and Jack (5). All three children will be swimming for the Hammerheads this year. When they are not at the swimming pool, they are on the soccer field or hanging out with friends and family. They are looking forward to another successful Hammerheads season!

Vice President | Dianna Hansen

My name is Dianna Hansen and this is my first year on the Hammerheads Board where I will be serving as Vice-President. My husband, Donald, and I have lived in Heritage Landing since 2011. I have a 13-year-old daughter Andrea and a 8-year-old son Benjamin both swimming for the Hammerheads for the 4th season this year. When we are not at swim we enjoy spending time at the beach, going on cruises, and hanging out in the driveway with neighbors.

Treasurer | Christy Coffey

This is Christy's first year on the Board of Directors, but she has had many swimmers on the team in the past several years. We are excited to have her in the Treasurer role this year.

Secretary | Jennifer Taylor

I'm Jennifer Taylor, and I am the Secretary for the Hammerhead Swim Team. Our oldest son, Conner, has swam on the team for the 4 past years. Our two daughters, Alyssa and Aubrey, were on the swim team for 3 years. Our favorite part of being on the Hammerheads is the fantastic coaching staff and the fun at the swim meets.

Information Manager | Rachel Dyer

Rachel has been a swim mom for the last three years, and is excited to be the Hammerheads' Information Manager for a second season. Rachel has lived in Heritage Landing for seven years and is a second-grade teacher at Wards Creek Elementary School. One of her favorite things about living here is seeing her students around the neighborhood. She is so excited to get back to the pool for another swim season with all three of her kids!
