It’s time to RSVP for the mock meet
Hellllooooooo Hammerheads!
I’m glad to be back on deck and I can’t believe our Black/Teal/Silver (Mock) Meet is THIS week! Yikes! But super excited!!
Our mock meet is a time for us to make sure everything is working (computer, timing system, starter, the coach! LOL) before we start our Saturday regular season meets. I have to get entries to the volunteer computer operator ASAP so she can get our “heat sheets” ready. More to come on how to read a heat sheet later.
Action needed: For right now, what I need you to do is sign into Swimtopia. Allow notifications for the app if you haven’t already. Then on either the right side of the home page where it says “Mock Meet” green button “Meet Entry - open” OR from schedules - swim meets - scroll to the May 12th meet click on the green Meet Entries - Open button.
You’ll be able to let me know if you swimmer is or is not attending this meet. SUPER important throughout the season to do this so that we’re not scrambling for relay swimmers at the last minute. Did you know that if you have a vacation planned, you can go in and RSVP for other meets at this time?
**For the mock meet, please send me a separate note if your swimmer has been, or needs to, attend a practice time that is not with their normal age group practice. We can make that modification for this week on our heat sheet. I just need to know.
Text me if you have any questions and thank you for RSVP’ing (yes, even you “old” Hammerheads, I need you to do this! LOL). Once I get entries ready you’ll be able to see your swimmers’ events and their previous time (if applicable).
The mock meet will be held during REGULAR practice times. Swimmers are NOT required to stay for the whole 3 hours. We will get some base times and these will be what we’ll work to improve this season. Please tell your swimmers “I KNOW” we just learned fly and we’ll only have two days for breaststroke… but don’t worry about it. This is just a chance to make sure we all know how to start with the starter, everything is working, and for swimmers to show us how much they’ve learned so far. We will keep working on “all the strokes” before the first regular season meet!
Goooooooooooooo Hammerheads!
