Swim Meets: timeline & order of events

Hellllooooooo again Hammereads!
I forgot to explain to you about swim meets and their time line!

Start:  Swim meets all start at 8:00 a.m..  Warm ups happen prior to that:  6:50 for home team and 7:20 for the visiting team.

End:  The meets usually last until just before or just after 12:00 p.m.

Order of Events:  We go through each age group from youngest to oldest.  We start with the medley relays (1 lap of each stroke), then butterfly (youngest to oldest), backstroke (youngest to oldest), then we alternate weeks with the 100 freestyle or 100 Individual Medley (these events are for the 10&up swimmers), breaststroke, freestyle, and then the freestyle relays.

So if you think your family has to leave mid morning, you can RSVP “no late relays”.  If that’s case, then I can put your swimmer on a medley relay (early) and then they can leave whenever they need to.  It’s easier to scratch from an individual event than from a relay.

Thank you for RSVP’ing and can’t wait to see all the kids at the pool!

Gooooooooooooooo Hammerheads!
